Anchoret says:
first, reading.
jun says:
by what
jun says:
why you put reading first/
Anchoret says:
there is a good way to improve reading
Anchoret says:
try to get my post
Anchoret says:
and try to practice hard on the second round review
Anchoret says:
you can get a framework of rc
Anchoret says:
and then you will hardly do wrong on some question types
jun says:
I see your post, that 's so great
jun says:
I should read it again
Anchoret says:
and then again
jun says:
I appreciate if you can tell you the link throught message
jun says:
I will
Anchoret says:
the third round review will help you to practice what you learned from the second round
Anchoret says:
do not ignore this round
jun says:
go ahead
jun says:
why?
Anchoret says:
because when i finally take test, i have no tip for any question types.
Anchoret says:
the tips i summarized are all translated into a feeling
Anchoret says:
no tip at all
jun says:
is that shang cheng wu gong?
Anchoret says:
i can easily correctly choose the answer according to my feelings
Anchoret says:
no
Anchoret says:
you have to practice to get those tips all translated into a habit
jun says:
I will
Anchoret says:
before you practice, try to think why those answers are wrong?
Anchoret says:
is there anything common in the wrong answers?
Anchoret says:
and in the right answers?
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
try to comprehend what is "related" and what is "unrelated"
Anchoret says:
do not easily judge
jun says:
try to comprehend what is "related" and what is "unrelated"
??
Anchoret says:
what is "related" and what is "unrelated" information (choice)
Anchoret says:
that is a very important rule
Anchoret says:
to quickly rule out some wrong choices
Anchoret says:
and the next is
jun says:
could you give me more infos about related and unrelated
Anchoret says:
what is conform to the author'
Anchoret says:
what is conform to the author's attitude and what is not (also choices)
jun says:
I see
Anchoret says:
if you see
jun says:
sowaht
Anchoret says:
try to read the passage again for the attitude info
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
this is a great rule to rule out some wrong choices
jun says:
what?
Anchoret says:
the attitude thing
jun says:
go ahead
Anchoret says:
and i can tell you that, i did all the rc infer question without relocate
Anchoret says:
because i can easily rule out wrong answers
jun says:
really
Anchoret says:
memorize the pattern, and try to practice. without practice, you can get nothing
Anchoret says:
But it is the goal
jun says:
tell me more
Anchoret says:
you should do something before hand
Anchoret says:
first, catagorize all the rc questions
Anchoret says:
you should guarantee 100% right on "main idea" type
jun says:
and then
jun says:
main idea is not very hard
Anchoret says:
try to collect all detail questions
Anchoret says:
i mean those with line number or key words
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
try to get these right answer back to the passage.
Anchoret says:
you will see some question rules
jun says:
that's funny
Anchoret says:
I do not want to tell you because you can get the rules by yourself
Anchoret says:
if i tell you the detailed rule, you will not suttlly get what i mean
jun says:
different people get different opnion
Anchoret says:
exactly!!
Anchoret says:
then
Anchoret says:
collect the "structure type"
Anchoret says:
and promise youself you can do 90% right or higher
Anchoret says:
it is just easy like "main idea and attitude" thing
jun says:
structure question is not so hard to me
Anchoret says:
do you know why you should get question types apart?
jun says:
no,
jun says:
tell me please
Anchoret says:
first, you can get suttle feelings about how to make a question
jun says:
and then
Anchoret says:
second, you can get info about how to prepare to do those questions when you are reading the passage
jun says:
yes, it is
Anchoret says:
it is very important to get the question right
Anchoret says:
you will see when you finished summarizing, you can easily tell that " oh, i think ets will make a question in here" when you are reading the passage
jun says:
that is what I want
Anchoret says:
when you know there is a structure type questions, you will think following questions when reading
Anchoret says:
1. why the author writh this para
Anchoret says:
2. what he want to tell us
Anchoret says:
3. is there any change in attitude
Anchoret says:
4. what is the function of the detail in this para
Anchoret says:
5. what may be the relation between this para and the whole passage
jun says:
you are wondfull
Anchoret says:
that is very important!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anchoret says:
not everyone do that when reading
Anchoret says:
so they have to relocate info
Anchoret says:
and it cost precious time
jun says:
yes it indeed
jun says:
thanks very much
Anchoret says:
you should analyze the question
jun says:
what do you mean?
Anchoret says:
like "what can i get the answer when i read"
jun says:
??
Anchoret says:
it is equal to "what part of passage i should read carefully when i read"
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
i get all passages reread
Anchoret says:
and underlined what part is the key to question.
jun says:
i will
Anchoret says:
i mean on the passage
jun says:
i see
Anchoret says:
using fluerecent pen
Anchoret says:
it is very clear.
jun says:
oh
jun says:
i see
Anchoret says:
it is just the first step
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
the second step:
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
try to get all infer question collected
jun says:
go aherd
Anchoret says:
try to contrast the answer and the original text
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
and !!!!!!!!! try to get what is wrong about the wrong questions
Anchoret says:
why they all wrong
jun says:
i see
Anchoret says:
do not stop on why they are all wrong when you can get some feeling like "too extreme"
Anchoret says:
you should think hard on how to quickly rule out some of them
jun says:
that is what i often do
Anchoret says:
that is the "related/unrelated" stuff
jun says:
i WILL correct my wrong
Anchoret says:
and the "attitude" stuff
Anchoret says:
which i mentioned above
Anchoret says:
the infer questions are very important if you want to get higher scores such as 730+
jun says:
i see
jun says:
I don't like infer questions
Anchoret says:
the second round is not finished yet
Anchoret says:
you should catagorize on subject matter
Anchoret says:
you will see that what the "science" passages want to test you on.
Anchoret says:
The most important is "the whole logic relation between facts and stuffs"
jun says:
i donn't like science topic
Anchoret says:
you have to get the logic relation between A,B,C,D...
Anchoret says:
A lead to B, C can restrain A. D can restrain B
jun says:
oh i am confusing
Anchoret says:
you must quickly realized that both C and D can restrain B
Anchoret says:
only A can lead to B
jun says:
oh my god
Anchoret says:
you only should memorize the "either lead to or restrain" relationships between things
Anchoret says:
do not get it more complicated
Anchoret says:
you will confused if you do not memorize or memorize too much
Anchoret says:
so just lead to or restrain
jun says:
that is hard to grasp it
Anchoret says:
just support or do not support
Anchoret says:
that is enough for quickly ruling out most confusing wrong answers without relocating
jun says:
thanks a lot
jun says:
it is very useul
Anchoret says:
when you get 文科 passages, pay more attension on 列举
jun says:
??
Anchoret says:
when you get economic and management passages, pay more attention to the logic推理顺序and support/unsupport relationship
Anchoret says:
you can easily get the feeling if you summarize
jun says:
i see
Anchoret says:
and can get detailed feelings
jun says:
it is very important
Anchoret says:
so. it is over for the second round
jun says:
I will
jun says:
that is only second round!
Anchoret says:
what you should do on the third round ?
jun says:
there is also third round?!
Anchoret says:
1. try to directly get all the answers from passage because you are famaliar with the passages. Do not see the questions
Anchoret says:
try to get what may be a question here
jun says:
you are expert on GMAT
Anchoret says:
2. when you finished reading, try to write the frame in chinese (or english) in a paper. it is quite like to write down jijing.
Anchoret says:
do not read questions
Anchoret says:
do not read the passage when you write the frame
jun says:
i see
Anchoret says:
why you have to do this?
jun says:
for structure question
Anchoret says:
to know what you have forgotten and the capacity of your memorization.
jun says:
oh
Anchoret says:
and you can improve in the next passage
jun says:
that is the reason
Anchoret says:
every para, five questions and what may be the key point for questions
Anchoret says:
and finally you will improve on the ability to memorize more of the passage framework
jun says:
I often forget what i read before
Anchoret says:
the more and the clear you can memorize the frame of the passage, the less time you have to spend on questions
jun says:
thanks your ways
Anchoret says:
practice in this round and try to get all your tips summarized into reading
Anchoret says:
you cannot tell clear rules finally
jun says:
what a great lesson i have
Anchoret says:
and you have get the all steps
Anchoret says:
oh.
Anchoret says:
on the third round, try to answer the questions after finish the writing. why? try to practice "related/unrelated" and "conform or not conform to the attitude" rule
Anchoret says:
this is all i know about rc review
Anchoret says:
Anchoret says:
hard work, ah?
jun says:
yes
Anchoret says:
and try to practice more passages in one day on the second round.
jun says:
ok
Anchoret says:
the more you can get in one day, the stronger you feel about rc
jun says:
three days for all og passages.
jun says:
you said
jun says:
right
jun says:
thanks xiao an
Anchoret says:
it's easy to say but very tough.
jun says:
yes, mention me if i cannot follow your steps
