how did u get this kind of info? I mean, do u simply contact the phd office or the professor>??

it is true that many universities have just started or not started. Umich contacted me on Monday asking for Official TOFEL. I called back asking them

to waive the requirement and they told me they would start evaluation the end of this week.

I think I tried the director of Finance PhD program instead of Admission office. And if lucky enough that you emailed someone in charge of application, you will get some information. Do anyone know how Indiana program ranks, cause I don't remember? top 10? top 20? How it compares to like university of Iowa?

The worst (let's say that) univ I applied is City University of New York. Others all within 15 to 40.

This year, there are two chinese faculties in the admission committee(4 total). I will ask the director tomorrow after class  to see what is going on here(IUB). The usnews 2007 ranks iub 17th in finance.

there are more or less 80 applicants every year and the first round offers have always been turned down. so TOP6 is enough.(for example, they only admitted 1 student in the second round last year. Despite the fact, they won't consider those after top6. ning que wu lan)

You are too conservative!

If I were you, I would take wisc as my backup and then try only those which are above wisc. ONE by ONE. hehe
