Ding by Duke, Essay 逻辑不连贯

The Duke healthcare application process is the same as that of normal MBA program. On the application website, there is a checkbox to mark your intention for the healthcare concentration. You need to be admitted to normal MBA first to be considered for health care concentration. There is an extra interview for the healthcare concentration as I mentioned above.

In addition, you need to gear your essays towards why you want to enroll in the healthcare concentration. There is no seperate essay on that topic though.

LZ, in Duke MBA application, how did you answer the question: which MBA programs are you applying?

people may be misleading you. better essay can not offset stronger competitors.try some less competition schools.

Ding by Duke as well. I applied for health care concentration also with no single health care background.  Have been working in finance area for 5 years now in MNC. Pretty satisfactory with my overall application package actually and wondering why got a ding. Anyway, let's move on...

LZ, you background is very good, i think everything has a "Luck" element into it, so don't be frustrated, and try Wharton straingt as suggested by NNs. when you get admitted by Wharton, don't forget to come back to share with us.good luck

我也被拒.不过我是感觉ESSAY写的很不好.只是在企盼有幸运.唉.其实尽管自已认为自已综合能力还行,但从我的ESSAY来看,如果他们录了我,对他们还是有风险的.那么差的ESSAY也被录了,对其他人可能不公平.我只能再从自身找原因了.

Hi Leopon,

It seems to me that if you want to switch to HSM, your background is not that strong. I'm not sure about Duke's HSM, but for Wharton HSM, all applicants have very strong background in this area. Most of them are directors and senior managers in small to medium health care related companies.

Although you've been working in biotech company for 7+ years, however, your major role is biostatistics or clinical DBA (my guess ). You really need to polish your essay to show your good understanding of business operation. And I don't think your age is your major problem.

Try to find out the answer from Duke, I believe you'll be fine next year.
