Ding by Duke, Essay 逻辑不连贯

我觉得我是很适合Duke的，不知道Duke看我那里不顺眼。 XDJM 看看我的问题在哪？

年龄：34

GMAT: 760

GPA: 85/100

BS: Chemical Engineering

MS: Chemistry and Statistics

Work: 1.5 year in China IT, 7.5 year in US Biotech + IT

Essay: so so. Actually I found several grammer errors after submission

我觉得年龄稍微有点大。Essay写得很一般。On campus interview的表现还可以。

面试的时候有追问对学校的contribution,我没准备好，瞎答了一起。

Very possible. Your background is more suitable for EMBA rather than full-time MBA, and the admission comittee doesn't think it is a wise investment for you to quit your decent job to pursue a career change. You may call the office and check what is the reason behind.

what is your career goal?? Is it specific enough?? Did you convince Duke that it will help you acheive your goal?

Since I have been in the Biotech IT area for many years, I applied for Duke's Health Care concentration. My short-term goal is to work for business development at major pharma and my long-term goal is to found a biotech/pharma directed software company.

Maybe too much stretch here.

The Duke admission office offers review sessions in June-July next year. I will try to sign up for that.

I agree I am more suitable for the EMBA. I am seriously considering that approach next year. Thanks Madben.

If you're not happy with your essays and interview performance, chances are, they weren't incredibly impressed either and thought that you were not taking their application seriously, hence lack of commitment to the program.
