CFA is definitely helpful in both application and job hunting. But many others are more so: w/e, networking, interview, etc. CFA is just part of your background.

To my limited knowledge, I think CFA is more quan, so particularly helpful in some jobs, esp. quan analysis. But I am not sure if you really wanna do it, as it is the world of quan students, e.g. ppl majored in physics.

Just my two cents.

I just passed the last exam in business accounting level on 20,Aug,2007 and get the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting , which may add more weights on my Application.

Acccounting ranking is 12 and Finance ranking is 6 and all of these are consistent wity my backgound.(ACCA,CFA Level I, CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, and accounting and finance working experiences and Bachelor degree in Finance and Master degree in Finance and Economics from UK)

Columbia is my priority now.

Suncola, I will do my best to make it!

That is great, hope all the best for your oncoming professiona life in BeiJing. Ive been working in silicon valley for last half decade or so (yep, another typical engineer mamager background   and still working my butt off to try to differentiate myself in the over-crowded application pool) so if you stop by at San francisco Bay area, give me a buzz or send a message in CD and I would love to show you arround.

Not a problem. If I did not decline another job opportunity, I should have been in LA for training now. Now I am bored in Beijing waiting for my work permit to HK. Feel free to ask thoughtful questions here... I am always ready to help.

请问哥大如果不申early decison是不是就希望渺茫了？

今年的regular decision那一轮的意思，是不是1月9号可以开始递交材料，3月3号截止？期间也是rolling的吗？

 Regular decision 应该是今年十月多的那个deadline过后开始交材料，但是只能在1月9日之后开始review。如果是9日之后开始，应该是第二轮了，而且不能参加奖学金申请。是不是rolling的，我记得是，不过也有同学说已经改了。建议问问admission office的。

据我所知，越到后面申请人的背景材料要求越高。至于希望渺茫与否，我觉得应该和其他学校第二轮第三轮差不多吧。
