Do anyone have some stats or roughly idea about what it is the admission rate for early decision and regular? I am trying to see if I should focus on Columbia ED but that schedule seems a bit too aggressive.

The number of students for fall full-time MBA is about 550, right? (I saw class 06 profile saying 726, but someone saying it includes Jan accelerated program)

Any comments or thoughts are appreciated,

you wont have time for summer internship if you enroll in the acceleration program. It might not suit you if you are determined to change your career upon graduation.

1. polish your essay as much as possible. a well written essay in regular round will bring you more light than does a rushed essay in the early round.

550 seems right.

Thanks a lot for the answer, eeyupyup. I am trying to catch ED and seems be able to complete it but of course more time the better when doing it part-time. Mostly I feel like round 1 and round 2 not have too much difference in many top schools but Columbia kind of sounds like a notable exception since someone told me, out of the 550 full-time fall students, about 70% gets admission in ED. If the applicants pool size are about the same in ED and regular, then ED seems to be much better choice, or is it?

It seems that in Columbia most of the students are finance focused and would like to go for IB upon graduation. What's the chance for applicants with 'nontypical' background to get in then?

I have 4 years w/e and done GMAT 750+, TOEFL 650. Currently I'm working for an international non-profit organization as a communications manager, and before that a top American public relations agency and a world known market research company. My short term goal is to do marketing or MC in the US after graduation.

Is there anyone who has similiar communicaitons background also get in Columbia? How is marketing in Columbia? Since from the previous threads I can see that most of the admits and applicants have big 4 or IB background, I'm a little bit discouraged and wonder whether I should give up columbia and try other b-schools....

The Columbia website says they will going to start the ED review on August 15. Does anyone have ideas if it is wise to submit the application on August 15? I think I am ready to sbumit now but I am curious if that mean I could get reviewed around that time?

我的背景是5.5年美国半导体业工程师，EE Master's，有两个短期目标选项：

1。毕业后直接回国做咨询，因为有语言优势，但是需要自己找工作。

2，毕业后在美国做咨询，没有语言优势，但是on-campus recruiting可以帮助。

我想请问，那一个更让adcom信服？
