My 2-cents for ethic dilemma: avoid choosing topics like bibery and cheating, the answer to these questions are so obvious, you can't showcase yourself at all.

To me the more sophisticated dilemma happens when personal ethical view conficts with the well being of the company (of course legally). Try to read the letter Abraham Lincoln wrote to Horace Greely, it could be inspiring.

DUKE选择申请人，主要看potential。如果一个学校只招收开两年Party也能找到好工作的学生，也就不能算是一个好学校。DUKE每年会招各种各样背景的人，甚至有很多创业背景, non-profit行业的人。

DUKE会assess你的背景，但是绝对不会因为你想从事marketing，而没有相当强的marketing背景，而拒绝你。你不妨在essay里面展现你在marketing上的potential和对这个行业的passion.
