I strongly suggest people take a closer look at the definition below to come up with a conclusion:

heavy rainfall (more than two inches), moderate rainfall (more than one inch, but no more than two inches), light rainfall (at least a trace, but no more than one inch)

D的意思是不是，如果降水量超过两倍，就不在中雨的范畴里了，而只要在这个范畴里，就不能超过两倍？

B和C我看没人问，偶就硬着头皮问一下，根据BC的条件，说明在中雨，小雨和无雨的范畴内，如果下雨的天数少，则无雨的天数多，即2寸以下的雨量肯定是1990年少了，而1990年的总降水量又是多的，这能不能用大雨的无限量多来解决呢，比如1990年大雨天数只比1910年少几天，但每天的雨量大的多，因为2英寸以上没有限制。答案A不就是用了这个计算方法吗？

这种出题伎俩习以为常啦。考察思维的全面性。且不说BCDE四个选项全属“not mentioned”，A项貌似错误，实则符合。诸位还有两个细节没有读到。

A肯定是对的，别忘了，如果是超级暴雨，比如某ju风。一天的降水量就比得上许多地方N年的降水量。

所以只少A的可能性是存在的，就是降大雨的天数不如1991年，但并不意味着降水量不如1991年。只要1990年来一场痛快一点的大雨就可以了

关键是INCHES AND DAYS，这两个词比较容易迷惑。。。。

我开始也选择了D，后来发现还是A正确。 90年降水量多，不一定就是下雨天数多造成的，可能是短时间的大量降雨，这样会导致中雨和小雨的天数比1910年少。。。。。D的TWICE是无关。。。

-  E could never happen since the total rainfall for 1990 was 20 percent higher in 1990 than in 1910. And as we all know that one year contains 365 days or 366 days .So the the average amount of rainfall per month must be higher in 1990 than in 1910
