UW-Madison, I am coming!

Benefited as part of ChaseDream community, I feel it is time to do something in return. I will begin Operations and Techonology Management(OTM) study in University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Business in the coming fall.

Feeling insuffiency of introduction about this MBA track and this university on the forum, I plan to take the lead in furnishing the perspective Chinese students with more info in this aspect.

Hi oddy, the corporate finance center is called The Nicholas Center for Applied Corporate Finance (ACFIN). It has very good placement rate! In '04, '05 and '06 its placement rates are all 100%. The recent recruiters are in corporate finance, investment banking and consulting field. I listed some recruiters of ACFIN(fulltime and internships):

3M, Northwestern Investment, Best Buy, Pacificorp, Procter & Gamble, GE Corporate Financial Services, Intel Corporation, Unilever, Kraft Foods, US Bank, Lehman Brothers, McKinsey and Co. and China Merchants Bank.

In 2005, the graduates' average salary was 64,050 and the median salary was 75,000.

UW-Madison's MBA program combines the breadth of a great core curriculum and the depth of expertise in a critical career specialization. This kind of combination provides you with wide network opportunities and sharp special knowledges. I recommend that you'd better to have a clear career goal before you apply here, because

1. your application will be reviewed by the director of each center which you apply for. 

2. although you can select other programs' courses, you cannot have a double-major diploma;

3. from the beginning of your MBA, everything your center does for you is directly focused on your placement in corresponding area.

UWMadison, Thank you very much for you information. I do appreciate that. I am wondering are there many Chinese students in that center right now? How about their placement? I guess the one joining China Merchants Bank should be a Chinese
