I took a glance at the faculty profiles on Wisconsin University Business School's website, and spotted one in Operations Research, who is a graduate of the PhD Program in Business at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. HKUST is great!

I am looking for some faculty information on Harvard Business School's website and, by the way, browsing through the school's PhD Program.

The PhD Program at HBS currently offers a living stipend of $43,000 (remember, this is stipend alone) for the 2019-2020 academic year. This amount more than doubles those at most programs and almost triples those at some!!!

HBS属于with tons of money and do not know how to use it,他们每年faculty有1万块买西服的补贴。

关于本帖 Placement Rankings 中各个档次的学校在这儿再强调一下：

TIER 1 & TIER 2: 项目都很强大，尤其是 Tier 1, 其中各个方向均衡发展，基本不存在我们常说的所谓"综排专排"的问题。无论进入Tier 1 或 Tier 2 哪所学校哪个专业，只要表现正常，毕业出路基本不用愁，如果你不喜欢做研究而是更倾向于教书诲人不倦, 则另当别论了。

TIER 3: 和Tier 1, Tier 2相比，除了综合排名不及之外，很多学校存在各个方向发展不够均衡的情况，如University of Missouri, Accounting 格外好，但其他方向较一般。原因是多方面的，主观原因包括公立学校资源有限等等，客观原因如各个方向就业前景差别很大，如Accounting总体上仍然好于 FIN (Tier 1, Tier 2 学校也面临这个就业市场问题，但因为属于Top学校，所受影响很小)。所以，对于这一档次学校, 在做入学决定时需要十分谨慎，需要综合考虑，包括申请的方向在所在学校排名，学校支持力度，等等。印象中记得有一位同学去年被 University of Buffalo录取，我们知道这家还是很不错的(自己知道)，往年毕业生很多去很好的 Research School，其中不乏 Top, 但这位同学最终还是选择 HKUST，觉得选择很有道理的。

谢谢刚才一位同学有关 University of Arizona Accounting Program Placements 的信息。以前主要关注的是 FIN 方向，就 FIN 而言尚达不到 TIER 1, TIER 2 水平。

现全面权衡 University of Arizona PhD Program in Management, 除 Accounting 和 FIN 以外的其他专业方向总体而言也很不错, 基本上属于各个方向均衡发展。所以我们判定 Arizona 已经接近或达到前两档水平，现姑且更新至 TIER 2，即 Top 50。

Someone wondered if INSEAD and HKUST belonged to Tier 1 in terms of placements. The answer is a resounding "Yes". The INSEAD program is on a par with the top 3 in the US. As evidence, it has student exchanges with the Wharton program. We will discuss in more detail non-US schools.

But somehow I think US Tier 2 Universities are more attractive than HKUST and INSEAD for me.  Most HKUST graduates are placed in Asia and Europe, not North America.
( It's just my personal view cuz I want to find a job in US)

If you are lucky enough to join the INSEAD PhD Program, then you have a good chance to land a faculty position at a top university in the US.
