HBS到底偏好什么样的人,这个有太多说法了,有潜力?背景名校名公司?改变世界的情怀和愿景?领袖气质?
我在本次申请的过程中我得出了一下的结论
HBS一直在强调他们signature case method是有深刻的原因的,我在看了那个video N遍之后,总结出以下case method的特征(现在也可以分享给大家了)
Facts about Case Method:
Encourages participation, mimic actual business decision making process, inspires brainstorming / ideas circulating, 80 mins session; learning team usually start early in the morning before class; the protagonist sometimes come into the classroom and share the real experience; discussion continues to go on after classroom, MBA is for people how wants to learn to manage people while ECON depart offers the theory
Key Takeaways from video "Inside case method":
1. Case method forces students to prepare for the classroom coursework
2. Case method allows students to experience the actual business decision, give them a taste of business leaders work/life
3. Case method stimulates ideas exchanging, discussion and creative/collaborative thinking
4. Case method promotes empathy among students, always consider "put yourself in other people's shoes"
5. Case method builds up teamwork, friendship and trusts among study group/section
6. Case method help students to form a habit to make decision under pressure and uncertainty

因为case method具有这些特征,那么也就非常make sense为什么HBS要寻找能够fit into this system candidates,因为ambition这个是属于不用说的东西,优秀的人自然而然有远大的抱负(否则也走不到这一步),优秀的人自然而然有更成熟的mind更Sophisticated的interpersonal skills
如何能够让HBS 新一个class能够最大程度的benefit from this system? 就是学生有天生的好奇心,善于听取他人意见和建议,善于从他人角度来看问题,think outside the box,强烈的责任心,愿意帮助同学......
