How did you respond to the question of why PHD after MBA?
I'm also a graduating MBA, applying to PHD programs in another discipline.
Applicants with MBA are not common for any PHD programs in business, and can often expect such a question.

Also, how did you explain the discrepancy between your GMAT and GPA. Not sure about other schools, I find it very hard to maintain a high GPA in the MBA program at my school. I noticed that many applicants are able to achieve a GPA as high as 4.0 in other master programs such as MACC, MSA, Mfin, MSF, or MA in econ. This is not for MBA. Out of the close to 500 MBA graduates each year at my school, I don't think any one has a GPA of 4.0.

不要以为老教授们都是傻子，他们知道这种奇高无比的GMAT分数怎么来的，只是嘴里不说而已，最好还是不解释为好，解释就等于撒谎。

哈哈，我还是解释了，三个月，300小时，3000道题训练的GMAT和每周3小时上课，然后不停找工作投简历面试，其成绩肯定有不同....但是我第二学期努力学习后，GPA已经3.8了，教授表示理解~

今天一早收到Temple的邮件面试邀请，约了下午3点半和Professor Nathan Fong电话面试。问的问题很常规，为何想来读PhD，对于哪个领域的研究感兴趣，还有去年参加的学术会议有何收获？三个问题我答了大概二十分钟，然后问我有啥问题。我问的是，Temple这个Global Center For Big Data and Mobile Analytics 属于一个怎么样平台？是一个实验室呢，还是一个虚拟的研究团队；另外关于他们研究团队更倾向于Empirical的研究还是Theoretical方向;最后一个今年找几个PhD？ Fong教授的意思是最多可以找三个，但是也要看双向选择，去年最后招到了一个，前年招到了三个...

寂静了两周后这是第一个学校又发出来面试的，前几天朋友们已经和德州A&M已经面试了，还有这周康涅狄格大学也在发面试邀请了。随着大部分学校已经开始新学期的工作，希望这周和下周有更多学校发面试吧~~~
