Lunarlin,

Your 3.25 GPA will be not be an obstacle at all. But you should pay attention to the specific requirements of the Toefl score. Chicago GSB requires that international applicants score over 60 in each section of the test.

Dear GBS students:

I have a question about R1 and R2. I have consulting and marketing experience together. People said if you have consulting background, you'd better apply for R1, but I'm doing marketing now, so which round is better for me?

Also, I noticed the deadline of R1 for GBS is ealier than last  year (in October). If I had a chance to complete interview before deadline, how long time I can know the application result?

There are three rounds of application, the deadlines are:

2005-06 Full-Time MBA Admissions Deadlines

Application Deadline	Decision
October 26, 2005	January 11, 2006
January 4, 2006	March 22, 2006
March 15, 2006	May 17, 2006

The online application website is:

http://admissions.chicagogsb.edu/admissions/home

And you can apply for an interview during your application process. GSB will assign you an interviewer according to your specific location. The result will come out at the decision days listed above. You will be reach either by  phonecall or by email.

Most applicants of the first round are with IB or consulting W/E, which means you would compete people with familiar backgrounds.

It will be always beneficial to prepare early. The application is like a long journey, through which you can explore yourself and perfect your essays. My personal experience tells me that applying in first or second round makes no substantial differences, and that your essays make the difference. Every new GSB admit this year made thorough research and showed in his/her essays the commitment and passion to the school.

能问问学校对gpa的最低要求吗？

The university of Chicago GSB do value the overall academic strength of applicant by looking at GPA, TOEFL and GMAT. But no single element will kick you out of the close list.

The school sets no specific requirement of GPA. If you have a not-so-decent GPA, try your best to make it up by fighting a high GMAT and TOEFL, which are more important indicators of your academic strength, especially if you have been working post-undergraduate for quite awhile.

太感谢了，我总算是石头落地了。我本科的大学我是被骗去得，当时班主任说那不错，而且倒霉的是中山大学那年在我们省只招四个，所以就去了这个学校，本科的GPA真的很差，我主要跑学生会去了，但后来读研的时候换了学校，gpa也只有3.2左右。研究生毕业的时候加入了一个类似管理培训生的项目，这个公司每年在7个学校里选一个人加入，当初面试的时候，老板就问我本科的成绩为什么这么差，我就解释了半天。不过后来他们还是选了我，我现在要在公司欧洲总部工作一年。

我现在想问问，我是不是可以只交研究生的gpa，或是多工作几年？一般的工作多少年申请比较好？我想只要入取的时候，不是特别机械的执行多少gpa一下直接踢出的政策，只要让我面试，我就有信心了。

Extracurriculum activities are important. My own experiences told me that the GSB highly values these activities, which are closely related to personality.
