Dear All,

The MBA life has just kicked off. When I read the schedule for the first half year, all the timeslots are packed with lessons and discussions. So I am sure we will have an extremely busy year for 2016. Leadership is the main focus for the IMD Program., we will be assessed and trained throughout the entire year by lessons, personal coaching and appointment with the personal psychologist.

Lausanne is a place next to the Geneva Lake, with stunning buildings bounded by spectacular mountains. Attached some pictures i took in the city and in IMD
The admission office has planned this year visit to the following countries. If you have interest to IMD, kindly come to have a talk with the admission team and alumni there. I am sure you will get a lot of information about that.

今天第一天正式上课，上午下午各满满的4小时，许多同学都反映离开学校多年的being old的大脑，还需要一些调整和适应。但这个时间不会很多，马上来临的日子就是白天上课晚上case discussion到深夜了。一年的魔鬼训练正式开始，纪念一下！

同时，大家有兴趣申请和了解的，也请随时联系我们，我们会尽力回答。

还有，凑巧的是今天第一天上课，已经有过来考察学校并旁听课程的申请者了。2月1号的是第一轮的deadline，想想一个多月后，我们就有可能接待新的申请的童鞋们了，期待能和有意向的童鞋们见面交流！

quesiton : i have some doubts about mini case . what kind of topic ? the same as  the interview in MBB ?
such as , help a automotive company in a new market ? or find a strategy to reduce the cost in operation ?  such big?

Basically it is very similar to what you said. In different assessment day you may get different cases.

We would suggest you read Case in Point to learn the framework. If you are very familiar with the framework, you will be very safe for the mini case.

经过一个礼拜的热身之后，我们也正式进入了紧张而又富有挑战的MBA课程学习。

课堂上，教授非常重视大家的参与度，会有各种问题等待大家风格迥异、但颇为启发的回答。有时候课程上到一半会冷不丁将大家发配到“地牢”（注：实为学习室，沿用往届学长称呼），进行小组分析和讨论。课后还会有case study，materials reading等。

当然，我们不是只有学习，大家会组织去滑雪，去听音乐会，去跳舞，等等。此外，作为IMD的传统项目，在开学第二周的周五晚上(注：时间可能根据课程安排有所调整），来自40多个国家的同学按照文化/地域分成若干个不同的组别，展示各自国家的人文/历史/政治，and of course, dance & party!

这周我值班，
最近这两三周很忙，发生的事情也比较多。
见了创业项目的创始人，没产品，没客户，没市场，有钱，有技术。等着我帮着解决，三个月之后见分晓。创业课程设计算是最合理的，个人很满意这个部分。
Leadership陆陆续续开始了，课程设计的合理，今天刚完成了阶段性的工作，很累。也算是放松，我年纪大了，对一些东西的理解跟不上年轻人，到时候轮到年轻人值班的时候让他们说一下感受吧。我觉得马马虎虎吧，对后面的小组工作会有些帮助。我之前类似的项目做过很多，感触不深。小组安排设计IMD基本上非常科学理性。
经济学的部分Ralf讲，我工程背景觉得实在无聊，上课跳跃很大，对没基础的人来说完全没有头绪。
日子嘛，基本就是呆在地牢里，对年纪大的人来说还好。
学校的食堂在瑞士基本上找不到第二家了，外面的饭店也很少能比IMD的食堂好的，但对于中餐来讲还是稍有差距。

IMD最大的收获的部分还是生源，虽然经历了Lisa风波，但今年感觉AO找人确实用心。我们中国人除了我比较屌丝之外，其他的中国和外国同学随便聊聊背景和经历都很震惊。基本上各个国家的人多对同学超级满意。大家也都在羡慕和震惊各自的经历的回味当中。

其他的嘛，瑞士大农村，超市除了我家楼下的之外基本6点关门。区别的大城市啥的会好点儿，洛桑就是村，除了风景之外啥都没有。基本上除了学习之外就是喝酒，我已经喝多几次了，爬梯场场必到。也算是一种经历和回忆吧。我累了，明天还要起早。顺便上一张Lac leman的风景照，学校外面30秒。

可能我表达的有点问题，重要的是经历。背景跟你录取关系不大。大概三月份左右2016的小简历都上线了，如果想看背景的话到那时候你可以全都看到。
