OG上说C选项"An active verb makes the first clause more concise; it in the second clause clearly referers to the radio".
怎么看出c中的instead, it has become这个 it 指的是radio? 前面先行词还有telephone, private conversation啊,为什么it一定指radio?根据就近一致原则,it可能指代telephnoe啊?求助牛牛.

之前这个题也是困惑我很久的，我觉得吧
如果这样Marconi conceived of the radio as a tool that could substitute for the telephone for private conversation，that后面的部分太长所以要后置
来看下面这个题：
OG-13-126

选A，开始我选B,that就指individual，就近原则怎么会有错！可是理解了句子就知道不是这个意思了：lying→reactions→responses
要根据语义。
我觉着有时候做题会陷入一种误区，只凭着就近原则就直接排除选项，这是不对的，一开始我也是很纠结这个问题，it 指代谁也不可能指代radio啊，看到这个解释
“that不一定紧跟所修饰名词，事实上在GMAT考题中确实有一些题选择的就是不直接跟所修饰名词，这不是一个语法范畴的错误，只是说和紧跟的情况相比，没有那么好而已。”

嗯,从句意看句子Marconi conceived of the radio as a tool for private conversation that could substitute for the telephone; instead, ithas become precisely the opposite, a tool for communicating with a large, public audience. 这个 it 确实是指代radio而不是telephone.你举的例子里的that也是指代emotional reactions而不是an individual. 明白了,谢谢啊亲.

刚才看到这个解释：“that作定语从句引导词的时候是就近修饰最好了，但是大前提是不要跳过动词就可以了，这里没有跳过谓语是可以对的。就近修饰是为了避免歧义。”
我觉得很对~

我刚做了2遍OG加总结，感觉是，语义第一，语法次之；有些绝对的语法硬伤错误可用来排除选项。
但是诸如：指代是否产生歧义，时态用什么会更好等等我觉得要比较选项再斟酌~~~

弱弱的问一句，这里which不可以跳跃修饰tool么？把for private conversation看作介词修饰语，然后tool和ratio又是同位语，所以which不就相当于修饰了ratio么。。。为啥说which无指代对象呀。。。谢谢大神们！求解答！
