Congrats to Ross admits!

On behalf of Great China Association in Ross School of Business, we are
more than happy to answer questions you might have regarding U.
Michigan.

In class 2007, there are around 45 Chinese students (4 from Taiwan, 1
from Hongkong, 33 from mainland, 7 from US with green card). Among
them, 80% have already landed summer intern from decent companies such
as Goldman Sachs, JP morgan, Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, BCG, Booz
Allen, Dupont, Cisco, Microsoft, Dow chemical, Amgen, Amazon etc. The
rest are waiting for the results from their final round interviews.

To Chinese students, English and Visa status are two big barriers for
job hunting. However, we are very optimistic that everyone here can get
an internship.

想问一下，intern跟过去的工作经验会很有关系吗？目前拿到intern的，多少是原行业的intern，多少是career switch呢？

可不可请楼主再介绍得细致一些，比如按着下面的来分类介绍？我想这样对于未来的ROSS STUDENT找实习机会或是找工作来说都可以是一个很好的参考。

地区－－ MBA前工作单位、工作种类－－ INTERN公司名、工作种类

台湾1（人名可以略去）

台湾2

大陆1

大陆2

米国1

米国2

如果认为有些部分太PRIVATE，可以简化来写，比如

“MBA前工作”可以简化为：“医药行业、研发”；

“INTERN公司名、工作种类”可以简化为：“IB in New York, Merger & Acquizition”

另外，如果能有今年大中国地区毕业生的就业数据（06届的也快毕业了吧），可否请楼主一并分享？我所知道的有一个做管理咨询的M毕业生今年拿到大陆某大咨询公司的OFFER，年薪RMB600,000。

ross的地点没有比NY,LA好

但是intern还是找得到

It all depends on the market. I was talking with I-Banker who is responsible for interview Asia interns last night. He told me that normally,he would only consider applications from Wharton, Chicago and Columbia unless the candidate is graduated from Standford or Harvard with IB experiences. Howvever, if the market hiring is like 2005, he may consider others (with IB experiences) to make up the number.

I don't think it is the bank's hiring policy. and who wants to be a banker when the market is bad? the newly graudated MBA will be the first one to receive the firing letter.
