As I know, Greater China Association in Ross School of Business is establishing a communication channel (or so-called BBS forum) for 08 admits, and 08 admits will know more detailed information very soon.

two more takes about career switch:



1. for MC and IB, it's all up to you. Most of the prestigious IB (US
office) and all Big 5 consulting firms come to Ross for on-campus
recruiting. Location is definately not an issue.



2. for corporate, yes, it is a little bit harder for internship.
However, Ross adopts a very unique teaching method - MAP (
Multidisciplinary Action Projects). 4-6 students as a team work on a
real consulting project for many fortune 500 companies (for example, JP
morgan, Microsoft, P&G, 3M, etc.) The project last about 2 months
(8 hours a day, 5 days a week) almost like another internship (without
salary, which is not good). This is really important for students who
want to switch their career after graduation.

In some sense, all of 07s are career swithers; what matters is to what extent.

There are three kinds of career switches. The most difficult one is to change both function and industry; other two are to change either industry or function. We have not statistically analyze all the related information, but I believe that the Career Development Officers of Greater China Association in Ross would share with you through 08 admits communication channel very soon.

if giving a draft answer, I think that 25% is the most difficult one, and 75% is the other two.

So far, only 4 students of class 2006 have not accepted (or got) the
offer and are still hunting for other full time employment
opportunities. The offers others have accepted include: Mckinsey, BCG,
Bain, Lehman Brothers, UBS, CSFB, HSBC, and other leadership rotation
programs in industry.

This is really great! It seems that all the accepted offers have salary about or above 10k, right? What are some of the companies that sponsor leadership rotation program and recruit at Ross? Thank you.

Other than consulting and banking firms, class 2006 (China, HK, TW) full-time corporate offers received so far are from the following companies (some people received >1 offers): Amazon, Eaton, PWC, BOC, Sun Chemical, Medtronic, Avaya, Rohm Hass, J&J (China), Dupont, Citigroup, Kraft (back to China after 1-2 years), Kimberly-Clark, Siemens Management Consulting (Beijing), Intel (US, Asia), GM, Boeing, Capgemini, Apple, United Airline, Dell, Microsoft, plus some small companies

Note: Kimberly-clark, Intel (US) don't hire international students; Eaton and GM partially hire, but to certain positions only.

BTW, all the admitted students are supposed to receive an invitation soon to join an admitted student group. Welcome to post questions to that place.
