第一题 C&E 很难选择但是我认为conceive of A As B 是惯用法所以排除E

第二题 A没错

第三题主动一致排除BD, A 错, 后面那一句讲的是women, not work, 所以用many of them指代

In "proportion of women", women is object of "of", so it's OK to use them to refer to "women".

Q14, I choose D.

In A " to a height " can modify verb "bank", thus the framwork is 3,4feet high, and thus too low. While in D, "as high as" can only modify "dirt", thus the house may be higher than 3,4feet. Besides I found "house was/is banked" in google, while no "framework was banked" is available. So I think D is better.

10. C; "it" in A cannot refer to "radio" but "conception";

14. A; framework overlaid..., and banked... can meet the logical meaning.

16. C; a plural verb + many of them (absoulte phrase is preferable).

D,为什么不对?

The second part you mentioned is not a sentence but an absolute phrase. Because it lacks a auxilary verb "was" before the past perfect "overlaid"....

Q14, D is key. the "was banked" is parallel with "was conical in shape". The "was" before "banked" cannot be omitted in this sense, because the "was" in "was conical in shape" is a link verb, while the second was is a auxilary verb.

Besides, if "banked" is coordinate with "overlaid", the logical meaning of this sentence becomes elusive. Pls refer to floor 7.
