1.  假设was banked with..与was conical in shape并列，那么"its framework overlaid with slab of bark"作为一个独立主格结构可能有两个位置填充：

原句是位置（1），不是位置（2），为什么呢？

我没有根据，只是凭感觉，位置（2）跟shape和banked没关系，只是补充house的信息；但是位置（1）特意把独立主格放在shape的后面，似乎是强调意思上与 conical in shape更有关联。

再看"its framework overlaid with slab of bark"，内容是怎么用料建房的，没有任何关于shape的信息。

2.  假设banked with..与overlaid并列：

house was conical in shape, its framework overlaid...and banked with....

独立主格唯一的位置，跟shape没关系，只是补充房子如何建造的，包括：1）怎么用料overlaid with....；2）怎么特殊处理banked with...

个人感觉这种情况结构更紧凑，意群更合理。

D选项中明显as high as是修饰dirt，用3到4英尺高的土来堆砌，这是不合逻辑的。只能说用土堆砌到3到4英尺高才比较合理。

原来选的是C,可是看了讨论，有个NN说BECOME和BE不能互换...严重同意！又看到个NN说管同学课上说E的逗号打错了...这份题本来就是从管同学那里来的，他承认自己打字错误，那么E的那个逗号确实就是米有滴...那我选E...

同意tianwan gg的分析。选d.

补充一点，如果是banked with dirt 也是独立主格修饰its framework of poles 的话，这个poles 是柱子啊？怎么可以banked with dirt as high as 3-4 feet呢？所以，这里只能是和前面的was conical 平行，修饰house的。
