但是我同意horsefish mm的看法,觉得banked with dirt to a height of 与overlaid with 更并列.

但是我的疑问是its framework of poles overlaid with slabs of bark, either cedar or pine, and banked with dirt to a height of three to four feet这么长一串,也可以理解成独立主格么?

如果不是独立主格,那么又该是什么呢?我觉得overlaid和banked都是过去分词做后置定语修饰frameworks的

這題我本來也選a...
但是後來覺得的確d比較好...
這裡的banked應該與conical平衡比較好...

語法方面TAINWAN nn都說的頂清楚了...從別的角度來說說好了

我認為應該是房子被墊高...而不是柱子被墊高...

記得之前考托福的時候有聽過一篇講美國因為氣候變化而有不同的房子....
這題應該就是與其相關的題目...
那篇裡面講到有些原住民的房子因為特殊氣候而必須把房子墊高...
一些蟲啊蛇啊什麼的才不會爬進屋子裡...

我是後來想到這點就覺得a可以接受了...
不過真的深刻體會到這種題目就是在考非本地學生的....
句意看不懂...根本選不到...

但話說回來...a中的to a height of  跟c中的 as hish as 有什麼不同我就不懂了...

我感觉这道题不能从应该是房子被垫高，还是framework被垫高来考虑，因为说不定就是通过垫高framework才垫高房子的。所以是不是有可能从其它角度，比如说its framework overlaid with slab of bark着手判断呢？

1.  假设was banked with..与was conical in shape并列，那么"its framework overlaid with slab of bark"作为一个独立主格结构可能有两个位置填充：

（1）house was conical in shape, its framework overlaid with slab of bark, and was banked with...

（2）house was conical in shape,and was banked with..., its framework overlaid with slab of bark

原句是位置（1），不是位置（2），为什么呢？

我没有根据，只是凭感觉，位置（2）跟shape和banked没关系，只是补充house的信息；但是位置（1）特意把独立主格放在shape的后面，似乎是强调意思上与 conical in shape更有关联。

再看"its framework overlaid with slab of bark"，内容是怎么用料建房的，没有任何关于shape的信息。

2.  假设banked with..与overlaid并列：

house was conical in shape, its framework overlaid...and banked with....

独立主格唯一的位置，跟shape没关系，只是补充房子如何建造的，包括：1）怎么用料overlaid with....；2）怎么特殊处理banked with...

个人感觉这种情况结构更紧凑，意群更合理。
