Duke is a pretty diversified program. That means our graduates got job on various industries and functions. 2002 and 2003 are very tough year for all Chinese students in top b-schools including Duke. But, job market has picked up since last year. So, overall 93% of our Class 2004 Chinese students got job offer, mostly in U.S. Those offers were from banking, consulting, marketing, general management, biotech, pharm, etc.
For Class 2005, since the recruiting process is still running (statistically, most offer is from March), I can't give you a total number. But, so far so good. One girl got offer from JPMorgan HK office, two girls will head to Bain's SH office (global pay), another two girls join "leadership program" in DuPont and other company.
One point I want to stress is: it's true your background & experience is very important, but, as I observed, what kind of job you can get really depends on your personality and communication skill. Nobody got rejection only because they're career switcher. It could be either they're not working hard, not smart enough, or personality & communication not fit. |
