dear LZ, thanks for your info, NUS MBA is 2-year programme, however, other biz schools' MBA, such as, NTU, SMU, INSEAD, only has one year, is this additional one year adding value to future career or waste of time?
thanks

Not a 2 year program.

It is a good question, many others might have the same concern.

The NUS MBA is a flexible program, you can actually complete your education within 12 months, as long as you finish the compulsory 68 credits (=17 full modules). Some people did that before , but the disadvantage is that - the overall workload will become more difficult to manage.

General speaking, 60% of students might complete their MBA in 17 months (3 semesters), 20~30 % might prefer 2 years, 10~20 % within 12 months. It is up to you.

From the aspect of learning experience, I vote for spending a little bit more time in school. 1 year is just too short for a person to really understand the MBA stuff... A student who completes its MBA education in one year might not be able to handle the real MBA job... In a typical two years' program , the 1st years is for collecting the dots ; the 2nd year is for connecting the dots.

Another better opition  -  secure a job within 12 months, then switch from full time study to part time.

Agree. The student who has a very good working experience, international exposure as well as the network can consider 1-year accomplishment. Otherwise, 1-year is too short, and 17-month is much better.

hi LZ, thanks very much for sharing so much with me, so far I have taken NUS as my 1st choice for future MBA study.
To be honest with you, I am a little bit struggling inside my heart now. I have been working for 2 yrs and 10 months in Singapore as a technology engineer, i have very limited time to prepare for GMAT&TOEFL, I am thinking of resigning my job and do full-time study on GMAT&TOEFL, but the problem is I haven't got my PR even through I have applied for 3 times and I have been in Singapore for more than 3 years including 1 year study at NTU.
Hereby I list my plan and hopefully you can give me some more advices:
1. continue to work in Singapore, meanwhile, continue to prepare for GMAT and apply for PR(I consider PR is an advantage in job hunting after MBA study, please correct me if I am wrong here)
2. once get PR and complete GMAT, I apply NUS and quit my job if NUS offer me, I may also quit my job if I can get PR before completing GMAT so that I can focus on GMAT test.
3. career goal after MBA is switching to business/strategy/marketing management in technology company, 2nd choice is to enter finance industry because I have some interest in stock market.
Thanks for reading my message and I really looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

hi LZ, thanks very much for sharing so much with me, so far I have taken NUS as my 1st choice for  ...

1. continue to work in Singapore, meanwhile, continue to prepare for GMAT and apply for PR(I consider PR is an advantage in job hunting after MBA study, please correct me if I am wrong here)
所以continue to work in Singapore, meanwhile, continue to prepare for GMAT and apply for PR是最好的路径。

2. once get PR and complete GMAT, I apply NUS and quit my job if NUS offer me, I may also quit my job if I can get PR before completing GMAT so that I can focus on GMAT test.

3. career goal after MBA is switching to business/strategy/marketing management in technology company, 2nd choice is to enter finance industry because I have some interest in stock market.
我也很理解你要做business/strategy/marketing management。多请教有经验的人:以你现在的背景,想做business/strategy/marketing management还需要哪方面的努力。
