1.In many western country, not knowing also trigers fear and the author gives some psychological explains. While in other eastern countries, not konwing is regard as a puls to improve and its positive side.

2.How to deal with  not knowing ? Just relax and rethink.

3.Millions of dollars lost due to poor listening.
the damage of poor listening & the reason of poor listenting

4.In addition to two steps which help you truly listen, you should have a sincere desire to understand.
Step one: focus on the person.
          listen,think, feel(understand)
Step two: Confirmation

5.Puerto Rico's debt problem is in high risk, what's worse, it cannot bankrupt under U.S law.The citizens with their properites are miggrating.

6.Structure:
The author supposed that honesty is an important quality, eg his experience, the real hard work is to openly admit that the current work is just not working.
Some colleges give the advice that put the weakness into strength, which exposed their insincerity and dishonesty. eg, his interview experience as interviewer.

we often feel uncomfortable when we are not able to answer the questions or handle problems since we want to protect our pride. But "not knowing"imposes positive effect on us.If we admit that we don't know something,we could have the chance to ask others for help and get the answer and we would also feel relaxed once we abandon the
burden of knowing anything.

time3:1'48
not knowing is acceptable, and it enable us to think deeper.

time4:2'17
listening is different from hearing.
hearing is a natural action, but listening requires people to hear with heart since you have to understand and interpret the meaning of what you have listened. So listening is a learned skill that always requires effort and practice.

time5:2'37
two steps to make sure that you are listening rather than hearing.
1.listening to the speech and just put your own opinion aside.
2.ask question to the speecher to confirm that you are thoroughly understand the meaning.

time6:2'48
the debt rate of PR has been downgraded to "junk"
the debt risk of PR is eight times severe than that of Chicago, and since its  economy is weak,PR is facing a financial disaster.
However,PR has few citizens in its country,so the risk type is considered as systematic risk.

obstacle:6'19
telling the truth is not always easy to do because we are confined to the limitations.
Colleges teach us to turn bad to good,or turn weakness to strength. But actually it is totally bullshit. We are always taught the same thing or the same words, when we apply to a job or take part in an interview.
But the experiment that made by the author shows that when students are being asked to abandon the cliche, and talked about what are their weaknesses. The whole talk is gonna be very different, the interviewers will display their real facets.
Btw,people who don't discard the official talking version are more likely to fail to get a job.

The obstacle article somehow shapes my view of the interview
Be honest – always easier say than do, but worth trying
Thanks for the articles

02:12 People from western culture fear “not knowing”; on the contrary, people from eastern culture views it as a virtue.
01:28 “Not knowing” is part of daily life and offers chance of advancement and improvement.

01:42 Poor listening leads to significant financial loss, and the reason for poor listening is the fear of not to be heard. (Explanation: listening > hearing)
01:42 True listening demands a person’s desire to understand what the other person says.
The following two tactics help: 1) focus on the other person; 2) seek confirmation during the process.

02:27 The downgrade of PR’s bone concerns investors because: 1) PR cannot apply for bankruptcy 2) and investors have no safety net

Obstacle 04:59
Candidates are expected to be honesty. Yet the career centre in universities teaches the opposite. The author disagrees with such “advices” (e.g. turn weakness into strength)

你每天都这个点起吗????

Dear Maggie~
Glad to see your reading work on the first page. But I have to tell you that usually we don't leave any irrelevant massages on front page. We make it a rule that paraphrasing is the first thing allowed on the first page. So, don't mix them up next time!
Wish you a wonderful day!

obstacle: the startups need more honest people who are brave enough to speak up about what is going wrong in the companies. The author uses that example to demonstrate how much he values sincerity in the people he interviewed.
