呵呵。。找到这道题目携隐姐姐的解释了~~我非常同意你的说法，很多人都说这里的country's market是双重所有格，我觉得根本不是，the market of the country's这才是双重所有格呢！你提到的第一点我倒是没有想到，increase to ... from ...我以前绝对见过，应该是可以接受的用法，虽然不是最优先的用法，但在这一题中，其他选项都有更严重的错误，所以就是应该选E。

这一题选出答案来没有问题，可是我不明白这里“, and then only as a way to...”是什么成份？看了以前的讨论，有人说这里省略了is应该是and then only (is) as a way to...我觉得说不通，is as a way 好像不对！也有人说是is used省略了，那就是and then only (is used) as a way to...这个倒是说得通，可是我想请问大家这后半句到底是什么成份啊？为什么可以省略掉is used呢？以防下次考到这种句型划线部分在后半句~谢谢啦！！！

你的理解没有错啊，would在这里代表虚拟语气。你亮出来部分的解释意思是，原文是一个假设条件句，需要用虚拟语气，而BDE三个选项少了would，无法表达原文的“条件句”的意思，将原来是虚拟的假设的东西变成了事实或即将发生的事实。

答案是C，我觉得没问题，但仔细一想，觉得A也可以是正确答案啊。按照lawyer的分类，这道题属于weaken中的因果型，weaken结论的话有以下方法：其他原因；割断因果等等。我觉得A属于割断因果。今年患病的人比去年减少了是因为水处理工厂的条件改善了，A选项提出，因为许多新的水处理工厂在过去的五年间就已经建好了，说明并不是今年水处理工厂的条件改善导致今年患病的人减少了，所以水处理工厂条件的改善与患病人员减少没关系，从而削弱此结论。

og 的解释就更看不懂了！

题目说的是水处理的条件变好了，那么过去5年间建立了很多水处理工厂不就是水处理变好的一个表现吗？所以OG解释说A符合原文，是对原文的一种加强。顺便说一下，如果题目说A导致B，问加强的话，说A确实存在，也是加强的一种方式。

可是题目说得是今年比去年患病少的原因是水处理工厂的建设，水处理工厂已经建了五年不能解释为何今年才比去年患病少啊！

手头没有LONGMAN，查不到as的词性和用法。但我认为这里省略的是is，不是is used，前文没有任何地方提示到这里会有一个used。而省略is很容易理解，and连接两个并列的成份，后一个成份的相同be动词可省可不省，很多情况下是省略的。

is as的用法你可以用google搜一下，有is as＋名词的用法。

P.S.我搜到一些其他用法，不太理解是什么意思：很多文章里面有A is as A does。比如stupid is as stupid does，evil is as evil does，等等。不知道是不是“笨就是笨”的意思，呵呵。
