I am freshman here and I am trying to figure out a proper way for me to take notes. So tired today and I will make up homework the day after tomorrow cause I have to visit my relatives tomorrow in a different city. At the first stage, I prefer to increase intensive reading skill, so I might make abundant notes and will see whether this way works out.

main idea: yahoo acquisition and how do others evaluate this behavior
structure:
1. Yahoo, announce this deal, attitude: independently operated
2. largest since Mayer.
Analysts: overpay, no revenue for years, plug a hole
RBC: long shot, long term but fits into Mayer's turnaround strategy
M : help Yahoo develop Social and Mobile presence
3. into to Tumble
4. attitude of the author: revenue decline caused by rivals, increase the andience
This article focues on an acquisition of Yahoo and how do others evaluate that. At the very beginning, the author shows us this news and attitude from Yahoo insider. One of the main points is that this acquisition is the largest since Mayer took the reins with his certain goal to reverse a long decline in business and Wed traffic. Is that good or bad? Some thinks that T won't bring any revenue in close future, but others consider this behavior fit into Mayer's strategy. In the last part, the author give his opinion----this deal is expected to increase the audience.
We can infer from this passage that Mayor attribute Yahoo's decline to a lack of product in social media and they want to reverse it by acqusition through which Yahoo can compete with Google and Facebook and thus win a place for Yahoo in social media. That reminds me of the knowledge learned from International business course. Acqusition is a quick way to extend business to an area which you are not familar. What's more, the CEO also noted that Tumblr would be independently operated as a separate business. That is to say, they won't try to integrate corprote culture immediately. Will that last for long ? Let's wait and see.
