The reading passage talks about the difficulties the science of archaeology are faced with in the twentieth century. However, the listening passage disproves these difficulties by referring to the new guidelines approved by the UK in 1999, proving that the old situation is improved greatly.

To begin with, the reading passage puts forward that many uncovered archaeological  valuable artifacts were destroyed because of new  constructions in Britain cities,  towns and villages. However, the new guideline states that before any construction company dig foundations for new buildings, the site should be carefully examined by archaeologists and be determined whether it has(换gain  /obtain感觉好点) archaeological interest. That is to say, the archaeologically precious artifacts will be preserved before any constructions proceed.

In addition, contrary to the saying in the reading passage that the financial support for archaeological research is inadequate, the professor argues that the new guideline announces
the work such as the initial examination and preservation plan done by archaeologists was paid by the construction company instead of the government funds and grants. This adequate
funds allow further archaeological research.

Last but not least,(其实这个的意思就是  最后同等重要的是...,一般的人都会用在独立中,你这个反驳用,感觉怪怪的~)he reading passage suggests that it is difficult to  have a career in archaeology as a result of scarce archaeology jobs. The professor refutes this point by saying that there are more and more increased jobs and high-paid positions for those who devote to archaeology. Now this kind of job has become a professional with the highest salary ever.
(这个我估计漏听了,哈哈)
In conclusion, the professor uses vivid and convincing reasons to disprove the points in the reading passage.

表达很好哦!

Friends are necessity in our lives since they can share our happiness, shoulder our misery and cast away our loneliness. When asked which is the best way for a student to make new friends, I prefer to say going   traveling is second to none. Here are my reasons.

To begin with, going out and traveling enable you visit new places and meet new friends of diverse backgrounds. Just as an old saying goes," traveling thousands of miles is better than reading thousands of books," traveling can broaden our horizon and widen our outlooks. Enjoying the beautiful sceneries and experiencing different customs, you are supposed to meet new friends along the road. Tank myself as an example. I indeed traveled a lot and acquainted lots of interesting people. They may be backpackers from America, as well as college students having a gap year after graduation. or even whitecollars taking a short holiday. We  met each other on the same train along the boring journey or live in the same Youth Hostel. Even though we met for the first time, however, the same love for traveling called us together and brought us cherished memories we would never forget.

In addition, compared with joining a sports team and limit
ing yourself in a single group, traveling can offer you lots of possibilities and help you become more open-minded.  You will never know what kind of friends you will meet next and there are always surprises and expectations when you are on the way. Lisa, one of my best friends, was a girl from Hongkong. We met each other in the Shaanxi  rovince Museum in Xi'an. We are both fond of archaeology and Qin Dynasty culture. After the traveling, we are surprised to find that we share so many similarities.

Now we often contact with each other and Lisa showed me her college life in Hongkong and their own way of thinking. Lisa is not only a friend, but a mirror of Hongkong to show me different lifestyles out there.

I concede that to some degree, joining a sports team or participating community activities offer you a platform to make new friends. But traveling offer you a bigger and colourful world which awaits for your discovery.

T he reading passage talks about three ways to address the decline of Torreya and the listening passage deals with the same topic. However, contrary to the saying in the reading passage, the professor refutes the possibilities of these three solutions and gives detailed explanations.
To begin with, the reading passage advocates that it is a good way to  relocate Torreya in the same location in microclimate  areas with cooler and damper climate. However, the professor points out that this option is not likely to succeed since these areas are vulnerable to the changes brought by Global warming. Moreover, any changes will affect overall climate and thus change the condition within the microclimate in the northern part of Florida. This directly contradicts the option in the reading passage.
In addition, even though the reading passage puts forward that  moving Torreya to an entirely different location is a good solution. However, the professor refers to an kind of tree called Blacklocast to disprove this option. According to the professor, the Blacklocast spread and killed many native trees and endangered species. It is likely that Torreya will also bring about unsatisfactory outcomes.
Lastly, the professor refutes the idea in the reading passage that to preserve the seeds and saplings in research centers and to ensure the continued survuval of the species.  The professor makes it clear that in order to resist diseases, scientists need to preserve the large part of the species. Obviously, the research centers have not enough capacity to preserve the larger part of Torreya and thus can not ensure its survival from the diseases.
In conclusion, the listening passage clearly deny the feasibilities of three options put forward in the reading passage.

Is it easier to maintain good health than in the past?

Health plays an pivotal role in our lives in that a good health ensures a strong body as well as  a good mood. People often debate on whether it is easier to maintain good health  than in the past. As for this topic, I would like to say, indeed, it is easier for people nowadays to maintain good health than in the past.

To begin with, thanks to the high-lightened awareness that health palys an indisputable role  in modern life, people gradually develop the habit of maintaining health and starts to combine keeping health with their daily life. It is common to see people, no matter young or old, doing morning exercises like jogging and Tai chi everyday. Even for the white-collars busy like bees, their weekends  includes Yoga and mountain climbing. There is no doubt that these exercise helps to release their daily pressure, reduce their pain and stiffness and keep them in  healthy conditions. On the contrary, people in the past paid little attention to their health, both mentally and physically. For them, to have three full meals is enough, let alone to spend time and efforts to maintain good health.

In addition, the improved medical and health levels brought from the high-edged science and technology contribute greatly to good health. Imagine the poor medical level and backwarded heath systems in the past, it is conceivable that people can not afford to maintain good health. Take my grandmother for an example. She had 8 children in total.  Later, because of the low quality of medical,  she lost two children, who were dying from the  high fever and smallpox. What was worse, the poor family could not afford to bear so many kids, and in the end one kid suffered  from hunger and starved to death. What a misery! Now people can not imagine the same scenery happening since the well-being of society guarantee a good and healthy life.

Moreover, the government also put great emphasis on the health of its  people now. The tax raised from the citizens is used to improve medical standards and health conditions. With a solid foundation the government offers, people can have the confidence to enjoy longevity.

In conclusion, compared with past,  people's awareness of the importance of health and the development of both medical and health systems ensure people's good health now.
