2011年12月17日北美机经 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: It is impossible to be completely honest with your friend.

Friends are our precious fortune in the world. Whoever we want to share with the sorrow and exhilaration must be our friends. Whoever we want to open our minds and talk about everything without any precaution must be our friends. As far as I am concerned, in most case, it is possible to be completely honest with my friend.

First and foremost, few would dispute that to be honest is the best way to communicate with people, which indicates that an undefended heart could easily win the appreciation of others, especially our friends. Although our minds are misled by some unfriendly people so as to hide our real thinking in order to survive in our society, our friends would not hurt our heart. On the contrary, they would listen to our harassment and help us to find a way to solve the problems, because there is an old saying: a friend in need is a friend indeed. I remember that one time I could not bear my family’s violence and run away to stay in my friend Sam’s home. In that period of time, Sam helped me get out of the plight and rebuild my self-confidence, I can feel that Sam helped me with a true heart. It means we don’t need to hide our real feeling in the face of our friends.

In addition to the previous point, a real friend would never betray us even we tell them our secrets, such as childhood misfortune, terrible sense of boss’s blame and etc. Because he or she would sincerely stand our angles to consider the problems we encounter. They know that these puzzles would bring their friends unnecessary embarrassment if it spreads out. In other words, they consider it as a responsibility for guarding their friends because their friendship become remarkably cohesive and could not bear any defense. If somebody would hurt their friend, they would defend them by making any effort.

Every coin has two sides. In some special time, white lies could help our friends. Everyone has their own weakness and could accept the truth we directly point it out. For example, maybe my friend joy’s face is ugly and he is frightened when people talk about beauty is very crucial for a person. In this situation, I would tell him that his eyes are very charming and everybody would be deeply attracted. It really does work that he finally marry a beautiful girl that it could be imaginable for him in the past. Thus, telling truth would hurt our friends in some situations so that we can use a smart language to encourage them to overcome their fear.

All in all, in most case, it is possible to be completely honest with my friend. To be honest is the best way to communicate with people, and a real friend would never betray us. It is worth noting that white lies could help our friends in some special time.
