The reading passage explores the benifits of  the salvage logging,while the professor diagrees  with what the reading passage stated for the following reasons.
To begin with,the reading passage suggested that  the salvage logging  can remove the remains of the dead trees,thus making room for the fresh growth. However,the lecturer argues that the cleaning up of dead trees can also lead to the loss of nutrients in the soil which definitely necessarily contributes to the growth of trees.
In addition,the satatement in the reading shows  that decaying woods may lead to  the insect habitat which can damage live and healthy trees.The professor opposes it by pointing out that these insect habitats may not  cause much harm as expected.In fact,the salvage logging does more harm than does the insects.This  directly contradicts with the counterparts in the reading.

Have you ever found that the flavor of the muskmelon bought from the market today fail to satisfy you?Have you ever found the supermarket swarmed with genetically modified food?Have you ever found you miss the fresh fruit pick from your grandparents' orchard?Now more and more people state compared with today, food in the past was much healthier.I agree with this statement.
First and foremost,with the rapid development in the science and technology,we are in a society asking for higher speed and efficience.Thus we are in a hurry not only for the work but also for the food.Instead of feeding such poultry  as chooks or pigs naturally with  forage,farmers  learn to apply chemical additives to speed the growth of these animals.Also,dung is replaced with fertilisers to provide the so-called nutrients for the crops.In our daily life,children are  flocking into such fast food restuarants  as KFC or Mcdonald's.News keep saying another "healthy genetically modified food is on the way ending up on our table" Just as an old saying goes,"we are what we eat".So it is not difficult to imagine what we would become with the food full of hormone and what our next generation would suffer.
In addition,the economical developments exert an indispensible influence on this change.In this realistic age,often humans are judge by his fortune and status .People,especially some greedy businessmen,drived by the desire to earn more money and to live a better life,make great profits by adding additives and preservatives in the food.An astounding example for this is the famous Sanlu milk powder incident.Sanlu, the first company to be found selling melamine-tainted milk,was condemned  for its ignorance and  loss of consience.The impulse of money and higher status triggers tragedies like this.What a pity!
Some people claim that scientific developments undoubtedly impose a  positive effect on the food.Yes,we can not ignore the convenience and efficience along with the products developed by scientists.But we still have a long way  to grasp  a more clear understanding of the merits and demerits of these products.
In a nutshell,the pragmatism,as the product of social and economical developments,and the hurried  life styles led to unhealthier food and even unhealthy life.We really need to ponder on this issue and accordingly make a change.

The curriculum of high school includes science and art,varying from such abstract subjects as chemistry and physics to history and music.Some people put forward that high school student should take a couse on basic economics.I agree with this statement.
First and foremost,it is undeniable that most high students would pursue further education far away from home.At that time,they should learn to live and study by themselves,including purchasing daily goods and distribute their living expenses.However, large proportion of high school students,according to a survey reveals,lives a dependent life on their parents.That is to say,most of them,with the aid of their parents, never have the chance to develop their ability to allocate their money wisely and reasonablly.On the contrary,it would be easier for them in the university life with the basic knowledge of economics.On that condition,they would have a better understanding of the "output and input "in the daily life and accordingly make a reasonable  budget.An illustrating example is my experience.At the beginning of every month I would make a detailed plan as to what to buy and how much to save. I can always make ends meet at the end of every month and even sometimes save some in my account.I credit my good habit of planning to the the economic knowledge learned from my high school.
In addition ,people can make a wise investment with a grasp of economics.In old days people would save their money in the banks for safe.Nowadays,due to the horrific  hyperinflation and dramatic currency devaluations,more and more people choose to apply the substantial balance in the banks to buy bonds,stocks and insurance.This kind of investment can not only devalue overtime but also make money with wise application.An surprising news show that a 15-year-old teenager become a millionaire with only 2000 RMB at the very start in just 2 years.When asked about his secret of success,he just smiled and said."It is with the economic  knowledge in my brain that I can do it."
It is true that the high school students should focus on their academic subjects in well preparation for the college entrance examination.But we also cannot ignore the substantial effect of practical economic knowledge.
In sum,owing to the merits of learning basic economics,students can better equipped and more competitive in their future study and life.

To begin with,the reading passage states to build a national fence would blocks the advance of the toads.However,the lecturer refutes that the national fence cannot block the young toads and cane toad eggs which habitat along rivers and streams.Definitely,the fence cannot stop the flowing of the water with which the toad eggs may spread.
In addition,contrary to the statement in the reading that vonlunteers can be organised to capture and destroy the toads,the professor argues that some untrained volunteers can also destroy the endangered native frogs which are similar to the young cane frogs.This directely contradict the counterpart in the reading.
Last,though the reading passage says that specific disease-causing  virus can be applied to control the population of toads,the professor contends that this kind of virus may also exert a bad  influence on  the toads native in south America.Thus the whole ecological balance suffers a lot and may breaks down.
In sum,the professor uses convincing reasons to disprove the measures proposed to control the cane toads in Australia in the reading passage.
