Large national budget deflicits fo not cause large trade deflicits. If they did, countries with the largest budget deflictis would also have the largest trade deflicits.In fact, when deflicit figures are adjusted so that different countries are reliably comparable to each other, there is no such correlation.

If the statements above are all true, which of the following can properly be inferred on the basis of them?

B) Reliable comparisions of the deflicit figures of one country with those of another are impossible.

C) Reducing a country's national budget deflcit will not necessarily result in a lowering of any trade deflicit that country may have.

答案是C，为什么B不对。文章不是说‘THERE IS NO SUCH CORRELATION’，那不就正好与B讲的相反吗？

NO SUCH CORRELATION 是指有最大预算赤字的国家 不会有最大的贸易赤字

原文无法推出 B两国的赤字比较是不可能的  

反而原文说当两国的赤字调整后 使得赤字可以确实的作比较

你没有理解好题目啊.

1.  第三句的意思是:  当国家间adjusted, 然后可reliably comparable 时,就不会有(countries with the largest budget deflictis would also have the largest trade deflicits )的关系.  意思就是说在进行reliably comparasion.

2. 其实"前两句是重点, 说budget deficit 跟trade deficit的关系不是必然的.  我觉得讲的意思跟C一样.

其实这题我做时也和你一样选了B, 看og解析才明白. 希望我现在的解析没有错+你明白了
