我原来选的也是E

但是C错在哪里呢

SWISS 在URBAN里的人比例小,但在INDUSTRY里工作的人却比例大

不是说明SWISS workers were more likely to be employed... than were American workers?

首先请读明白题目,注意定语限定:Swiss workers living in urban areas were more likely to be employed in industry than were American workers living in urban areas.,不是Swiss workers were more likely to be employed,接着请参考如下部分:

over 33 percent

(20)      of American workers were employed

       in various industries, as compared

to 44 percent of Swiss workers.

Granted, Switzerland and the United

States diverged in the degree to

(25)      which the expansion of industry coin-

cided with the degree of urbanization:

only 29 percent of the Swiss population

lived in cities of 10,000 or more inhabi-

tants by 1920.

Swiss workers living in urban areas =Swiss workers占全国人的比例*Swiss workers住在urban areas的比率。

从文中并不能得出
