Gas is better for cleaning the ground, so it will benefit human if we use it instead of coal. However, gas plays two different roles in global warming issue. One is that gas can actually replace the coal and produce less carbon-dioxide, this is good for us. But more filled gas will also replace the low-carbon nuclear,etc, in this case, the more gas used, more green energy will be consumed. A recent study shows that the consumption of green energy will balance out the consumption of coal in current time. A further point is that the sulphur can be emitted from the carbon-dioxide(I forgot) to the air before hitting the ground, and sulphur can cool the air. So if the coal will be replaced by gas, such short term cooling effect will be eliminated. China currently produces coal to the air regularly, so this actually lengthen the global warming, but if we replace coal with gas, the problem will be raised. Can the technology solve such problems? Some scientists claimed that the volcano eruption can bring large amount of carbon dioxide, so this will help to cool the air.
