If the US debt is not reached by this August, the country may face the problem that it is not able to pay back all of its obligation. So, how this affect the related field? The answer is that the budget of health care, science etc will be cut under the agreement of cut of spending of $100billion. Also, how will this make scientific field worse? If Us politicians make an agreement this year, it will push science under a bad circumstance. so the scientific investment will be reduced under the agreement of cut of spending of US. How will this make science field a better look of future? If the US politicians agree to pay off the debt on 2013 instead of 2011, then Scientific field will not take too much stress from cutting budget. In addition, both parties actually would like to keep the science research. Even though the agreement will be valid this year, it still possible that this field gets more help from others. For example, the republican house offers favor for the budget for the science field. what if there's no agreement set between two parties? Then republicans can still force the government to be shut down if this agreement is not made this year, or both parties can have a intermediate agreement before reaching its final agreement. What if the US government default? In this case,the US treasury may not know which bill to pay back, and the economy of US will keep declined, but such situation would not affect the unpaid bill according to the authority.
