各位都在讨论AD。我想问答案C中是错在哪里？是UP TO ...用错了还是GROWING...BEING...用错了。

第一次作题，郁闷哪。。。。。

我也和楼上有类似的疑问

我的思路是:GMAT中逻辑优先 而此句中不是比较的意思而是说京能长到多大 所以AS..AS..不对 排除BD 而BEING在逻辑上属多余 也不对 排除C剩AE 而AE 差别在于IT AND连接的要平行 所以E排除 所以A

不知道我的思路对吗 请大家指正

很多人說是A，我提個不同的意見，請大家參考：

這題的中文意思，應該是說，這種殺人鯨可以長大到30呎，而解題的關鍵就在grow的用法。我查了Longman之後發現

1.grow當發育、長大解的時候，它常當不及物動詞，例my fingernails are not growing.如果要說長了多少，則是直接加在grow後：he has grown 6 inches (taller).

2. grow如果後面要接不定式，其意為「逐漸變成」：In time you will grow to like him.(你會逐漸喜歡他)

回來看這題：

A: ...which can grow to be 30 feet...不定式，表示逐漸變成，而不是發育、成長

D: ...which can grow as big as 30 feet long...表示成長、發育為30呎（as big as起了表示可發育到多大的作用）

所以，這題我開始傾向支持D........

can grow to be 表示达到的状态，可以理解为最长可以到30米

as...as 结构意思反而不明确，可以理解为30米长，但是也许30米长，也许成年的可以到50米长

問題就在grow可不可以這樣來使用。grow當生物「成長」之意來用時，常是不及物動詞，如果要表達長大多少，就直接加在grow後面。grow to當長到多大解釋，則接名詞。且看CR 134: ....has grown to the right size.....

請再討論！

Killer whales grow to 30 feet long with a six foot dorsal fin for males, and 25 feet long with a three foot curved dorsal fin for females.

Killer whales grow to be 27-33 feet long and weigh 8000-12000 pounds.

好像grow to be和grow to都有啊！

同樣疑惑

, growing不是可以只代前面名詞嗎???記得og中有說過

還是,which指代更為明確呢???

所以優先選which???

我也选的D,不过现在觉得是A了,主要是前面有人说了, grow as big as 30 feet long, big 和 long重复了。
