D is the right choice because it eliminates an alternative reason to explain the higher total sum in wages at Y. Regular hourly pay is different from overtime pay, the latter might be twice as high as the former.

D是排除其他可能的原因从而support conclusion. 题目说Y和Z的员工数量一样, 但是total wage expense Y比Z要多. 结论是Y的时新比Z多. 那么这里存在一个可能就是Y的员工可以做很多OT, 这样子的话就算Y的时薪比Z低, 还是会可能出现 那个结论. D就是正正排除了这个可能性

哦。。我知道我的问题出在哪了。这道题里的OVER-TIME PAY 和HOURLY WAGES应该分开考虑，我把这两个概念混为一谈了。一出现概念多的比较我就容易进入逻辑盲区。通过这道题发现一个大问题。。谢谢各位的解释！受益匪浅~
