In my batch (quite a weak recruiting year), 8 Chinese directly from mainland (mostly commercial bank background)
Post graduate: 2 government regulatory background, go back (They do not care for 7 digit income) 1 go top 2 mutual fund (from big 4 bank) 1 go to 1tier IB, trading (from big 4 bank) 1 to top 2 local IB house (from mutual fund sales) 1 get top 2 mutual fund paid intern in HK, but failed to turn to full time due to market crash (from foreign commercial bank) 1 go to advisory of big 4, then to equity research (from small auditing firm) 1 go to top 2 foreign commercial bank (from foreign commercial bank, he is a little old for career switch)
Facts telll everything.
Anyway, a big challenge for MiF is that student do not have the Intern, which is important for career switch. Good thing is that, as long as the houses do campus recruiting, they shall come to LBS (at least for posts outside US). And MiF student share the same chance as MBA for pre-screen. If you make convincing interview stories, you get same post-MBA jobs as any other top MBA graduates.
