Kellogg Or Wharton for Finance PhD

谢谢楼上，看来是牛人啊。我的想法是：我希望毕业后在美国找一个尽可能的好学校。做到assoc，回国去北大中欧这样的地方。然后开始把精力转移到做fund上面去。最后还是想立足于中国。

Duke，UCLA和kellogg是一个水平的学校，从placement和老师的水平，热情程度来讲。考虑到管理学院综合排名靠后，而以后做fund有个虎皮还是不能忽视的，所以这三个中倾向kellogg

还有一点就是Kellogg的industry placement很不错的（比wharton好似乎，可能是离芝加哥近吧）。

Looks like you want to do asset pricing? Then try NYU and ignore Kellogg and Wharton. For corporate, Kellogg is the best, but corporate might not land you well into industry positions, but I am not sure about China, which could be different.

I am not so interested in industry jobs in US (or in China). It is a back up plan.　My goal is to get a good US academic job, climb up the ladder a bit, and then go back to China's university to be a professor, 然后自己搞fund搞consulting挣外快（具体什么的到时候在说啦）。

我对纽约大学的担心是这个学校整体声誉在中国实在不怎么样。特别是现在又和上海搞了一个分院。以后就和中国三本成为校友了。kellogg，Wharton，columbia毕竟都是top B-school。

If you want to get a good US academic job, then just choose Kellogg, plain and simple, especially if you want to do corporate. Other than Chicago, I see nowhere stronger in corporate than Kellogg, even Stanford.

If you want to go back to China several years after your us academic job, then your jobs in the us university is far more important than where you get phd.  And any Chinese university you may want to join(such as PKU) knows the market very well and can tell which program is better.

恭喜~kellogg 是个非常nurturing program，如果lz对hedge fund感兴趣那么芝加哥是个trading capital. Citadel， wolverine 就很好啊。
Wharton的强势不在phd而在mba program. 相对placement和collaboration甚至都不能算top 10. 我同学在那里找advisor有些困难。
