I want to share a must have English words list with all GMAT test taker. This list was colleted by american GMAT preperation orgnization. I lived in America for over 10 years and recently trying to take the GMAT. I found that this list is very useful. Not only because of the show up rate of these words in GMAT is very high, but also because of the frequency of the use of these words is high in daily life.

The best thing about this list is it uses Enlish terms or synonyms to explain the definition of these words.at the same time, it demonstrate the usuage of these words by giving sample sentences.

Here, I want to share a different approach of memorizing english words that I gained from an advertisement of the biggist language learning institute in America. use its original words

" To learn a new language is not about memorizing it, it is about absorbing it."

According to my experience, The best way to use the list is to reorganize the list. categorize all the words according to their character. etc. Verbs, Nouns, Adjectives, Adverbs.  then, memorize( absorb them by understanding their usages) the words following the order

 1. Verbs  2. Nouns 3.Adjectives. 4.Adverbs

The reason behind the order is I read a lot books about English styles. They all recommend that Verbs are the most important words because they make your writing vivid. Nouns are abroad knowledge but it is impossible for some one to know all the nouns. However, you need to know most commenly used nouns in your professional field, in this case, Business, Finance, Economy..., where MBA programs focus on. Every Adjective has a lot of substitutes. so, you don't need to spend too much time on memorizing all Adjectives. Lastly, the Adverbs, think for a moment about the necessity of this category, If you have a broad grasp of Verbs and know the subtle differences between similar Verbs, a properly used Verbs will save your time to find an Adverb to discribe an action. so too are Adjectives.( rememver, Adverbs also modify Adjectives and I had prioritized Adjectives before Adverbs).

I hope my insight will help you. I am a Chinese American. I am proud of my heritage. I want more Chinese to show the world that we are hard working and intelligent people.
