文中假设求支持，假设为从Neanderthal时代就开始使用熊骨来做笛子吹了。求这个假设的支持。那么文中交代过了这种笛子一共有7个音阶，可是发现的骨笛碎片只包含4个洞（4个音阶），因此最支持这个假设的是E，熊骨足够长能包容7个洞的全音节。取非也能证明E是正确的，即如果熊骨不足够长，那么说明Neanderthal一定没有做出来这个笛子玩儿，因为根本就不够吹小曲儿的。
而D就不存在这种支持，甚至可以说无关选项，笛子容易制作又如何？文中又没说Neanderthal很笨，只能做简单的乐器，甚至Neanderthal还能做钢琴呢只不过没找到残骸来证明而已。对D取非也不能推翻原文的设想（hypothesis）。
