【分数比较级的表达方式】

我在prep做题时碰到2道题目都是关于分数比较级的，题目大致如下：

(1) 7/16 is 3/8 more than N. What is the value of N?

(2) When a certain tree was first planted, it was 4 feet tall, and the height of the tree increased by a constant amount each year for the next 6 years. At the end of the 6th year, the tree was 1/5 taller than it was at the end of the 4th year. By how many feet did the height of the tree increase each year?

这两道题本身不难，但是它们对比较级的表达让我困惑了，比如第一道题是说的7/16比N要大3/8，即7/16=N+3/8，但是类似的表达，第二题却变成了6年后的高度比4年后的高度要高1/5倍，而不是1/5 feet!

请问大家，我们在做数学的时候是怎么判断这样分数比较的意思的呢？比如说第一道题，怎么知道它是说大3/8而非大3/8倍呢？我先谢谢啦！

好像看看有没有单位不就可以了额么？

谢谢，那如果碰到题目里本来就是没单位的又怎么区分呢？比如说第一题，它如果要表达大3/8倍而非大0.375呢？
