个人意见，这道题关键在几个重点词上，一个是but，一个是scarcely。题目上面说一堆关于这个公司可以将木纤维转化为塑料的事实，而but后面是作者的观点，一个but，一个scarely，注定了题目的否定意见，一定是作者认为这项技术不可行，并且倾向于过去用来制船的材料，木头。so，1st，ABCE都是推测的意思，只有D反映了作者的观点。
2nd。作者观点是prefer wood，削弱的话只能是加强plastic，only a
