答案选B，但我觉得D也很对。如果别的国家都已经hold住了自己的能源消耗水平，那么美国hold住自己的能源消耗是可以减缓地球上的能源deplete的。怎解呀？

这个是理解有偏差，别的国家的行动和US的行动有啥关系。别的国家这样做了，干吗US就得这样做。

举个例子：咱们大院公共用水超标了。因此，我一定得节约用水。从下面选出一个能够加强“我一定得节约用水”的理由：

A.我家是用水大户（类似本题B)；B.别人家都许诺节约用水了(类似本题D)。

这样就很明显了。反而 B.别人家都许诺节约用水了(类似本题D) 有点weaknen的作用呢。别人家都节约了，俺还要节约干吗？

回到原题，D) Other countries have agreed to hold their resource consumption at present levels--也有weaken的作用，别的国家都保持现状了，干吗US还一点要保持－－稍微多用一点好像都可以。这个，至少是个无关选项。

引申一下，D如果改成：Other contries do not agree to hold their resource consumption. 反而有strengthen的意义了。

因为：目的是要correct the current status that The earth’s resources are being depleted much too fast, 而别的国家不会保持现状，只有US保持，才可能达到目的。

1.这题关键是要找准加强的是结论，The earth’s resources are being depleted much too fast只是一个fact。而结论是the United States must keep its resource consumption at present levels for many years to come。

2.同时从13T也可以推测出来，

The earth’s resources are being depleted much too fast. To correct this, the United States must keep its resource consumption at present levels for many years to come.

(E) Curbing U.S. resource consumption will significantly retard world resource depletion.

前一句话说的是earth’s resources ，而后一句话缩小范围变成US，所以两者间要架桥。原文说“为了改善资源枯竭，US要保持现在的消耗水平”，E说“控制US的消耗将大大减缓资源枯竭”，即“为了改善资源枯竭，US要保持现在的消耗水平，因为控制US的消耗将大大减缓资源枯竭”。可见要加强的一直是说US耗能大，这样控制US的消耗才能大大减缓资源枯竭。

D别的国家与US无关。

关键还是找准结论，加强和削弱都是针对结论来的。

事实加强要求选项具有很高的具体性，比如说意见历史上的事等等。

我的理解。

我觉得E还是一个观点；不能叫事实。

我觉得如果要加强的结论是：美国节约用资源能减缓资源消耗的过程。即美国节约用资源→减缓资源消耗的过程，那么D是假设，而假设必定加强。

但是现在要加强的观点是：为了要节约世界资源，美国一定要节约用资源。美国要节约用资源是必要条件，即节约世界资源→美国要节约用资源。

那么D是无关选项。而B强调了美国占了大部分的世界资源。

这道题目我开始也选了D，这是我想半天得出的推理，请大家讨论指点。
