no love for columbia?  can anyone elaborate on why they think booth is a better school?

the location of U of Chicago is so unpleasant and depressing... and i think international students have a better shot for placement in the U.S. if they go to NY.  I heard most booth international students could only return to their home country: it makes sense - not that many jobs in Chicago.

非常有意思的言论,照这个逻辑Tuck,Conell这些小地方的学校的学生肯定是毕业=失业了。

Booth over Columbia any day. Booth's brand in Finance is world renowned, second only to Wharton. Columbia is only as good as it's location.

When we are talking about B schools, 2 important aspects come to our minds: 1. curriculum, that means academic environment 2. network, specifically alumni presence in the industry you intend to advance your career. For those guys who want to develop their career in financial sector, I would like to vote for Booth because of the two points mentioned above. In terms of the curriculum, Booth has a very focused and unique finance program, named Analytic Finance. Unlike other B schools' general finance programs, whose difficulty approximately equals to that of CFA Level I, at most Level II, Booth's is highly quantitative and really an advanced finance program. For those (like me) who have already got couple of years less-quantitative work experience and want to continue in finance industry, Booth's program is fabulous. In terms of alumni network, Booth has great presence in not only Chicago but also New York, Hong Kong as well as Singapore. You can refer to alumni distribution map in Booth website. In finance sector, Booth's name is definitely highly recognized.

I just visited the 2 schools in Jan. New York is fantastic, while Booth's neighborhood is somehow unpleasant. My friend's roommate was just got robbed in the campus. However, in terms of the job placement, curriculum, facilities and living cost. Booth is  better than Columbia. In total, I will vote for Booth over Columbia.

columbia admit here voting for booth...
but just trying to be fair, if you are a career switcher into finance, or, want to stay in the states after graduation, columbia has a slight edge.

to clarify, i haven't got in yet.  sorry for the false alarm.  i was just wondering which school people think is ranked the 4th.
i'm really confused by the following comment in another post:"If someone says they're in the "M7", they go to Columbia"

I have friends who are in both schools. Judging from what they are telling me, I would choose CBS over Booth.
