The mission of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business is to become a worldwide top ten research-oriented business school within 10 years of being created. Generous support from the Li Ka-shing Foundation since 2002 has ensured our status as a research driven institution, giving scholars the confidence to continue to produce significant articles after joining Cheung Kong, at the rate of more than 1.5 top journal article each in the past five years. Ranked alongside other leading business schools, Cheung Kong GSB’s output between 2003 and 2007 is sixth overall.
The Cheung Kong focus on research generates unique insight into the global ramifications of the rise of Chinese companies and the dynamics of competition and collaboration in China. This research is effectively translated into the classroom, where executives and managers enjoy China-focused case studies and modules such as strategy courses on the Globalization of Chinese Companies, finance courses on Chinese Capital Markets, and leadership courses on Confucian Humanism.
Cheung Kong GSB is now consolidating its position as the premier business school for research on emerging markets such as China and India. We are now partnering with top schools to expand our research coverage in Asia and beyond, including Korea, Japan, ASEAN, and Russia.
Strong, original, and innovative research are what set top-rank business schools apart from the rest. At Cheung Kong GSB, the faculty is committed to high quality, high impact, and ground-breaking research. Our faculty members publish in the most influential scholarly journals across all business disciplines. UTD Methodology UT Dallas' School of Management provides a tool to study research contributions based on publications in 24 leading journals in major business disciplines. The database contains author and affiliation information on all papers published in these journals since 1990. Authors' affiliations are recorded at the time of the paper publication. A single-authored paper results in the school of affiliation being credited with a score of 1. If there are multiple authors, the school gets a score of 1/n, where n is the number of authors, for each faculty member. If an author lists multiple affiliations, each of the schools that the author is affiliated with gets a corresponding scaled score. For example, if one of the n authors lists m affiliations, each school that author is affiliated with gets a score of 1/nm. The database can be searched by any period between 1990 to the current year for any combination of journals, resulting in aggregated scores for schools. This provides a clear picture of contributions from each school for the selected journals and time period. One can also search the database by school name, author name and key phrases in the title. The School of Management also provides a ranking of the top 100 schools in North America and worldwide based on publications in all 24 journals for the last five-year time period. The school also provides links to prior rankings starting with the period 2000-2004. --- Cited from UTD Website
