Pepperdine is located in Malibu, one of the most expensive zip codes in southern california. The school itself is very pretty, setting at the foothill of the Santa Monica Mountain, overlooking the pacific ocean.

I think Pepperdine is fairly well recognized in Southern California, but i doubt it is very famous even in Northern California, let alone out of california. Since it's a private school, i think their career service should be pretty good. At the same time, given the economy, you probably will still have some trouble finding a position.

Most people i know who graduated from pepperdine, did a master while working. so getting a job is not an issue for them. most of the time, i think their studies are funded by the company. for your situation, you might want to explore more about the job opportunities first before admission. proximity is very very important if you are not going to a top ranked school. companies will not be easily willing to pay big bucks to relocate you, or even fly you to interview. so you need to make sure that you're considered a local candidate so that you'll at least be given the opportunity to interview, and identify the industries and companies you're interested before hand.
