请教一道语法题，我百思不得其解

这5个分别选项为什么错。

e 的话逻辑主语是sound，所以就是sound prevents its acoustic energy逻辑不通，应该是 its acoustic energy呗XX组织

那C中prevented 做什么成分， its acoustic energy prevented from dissipating by ，，，，，这后半句在句子中充当什么成分

如果考试碰到这个题目，我也肯定选错。
看了你的答案，我试着分析一下，请牛牛指正。
根据prep语法笔记，as a result of 后面加复杂修饰，先排除A D
having sth. done 排除B
E里面的 现在分词在句尾，做伴随和作结果都讲不通。
C 可能是独立主格结构，起状语作用，名词+分词，表原因。
请牛牛指点这类题目的解题思路。

preventing...分词结构 作定语或者状语
如果作为定语则没有修饰对象
如果作为状语 修饰之前的动词 表示Sound can travel through water for enormous distances 的结果
在这里的逻辑意思不通: 声音在水中传播的结果 不应该是“防止其能量的散发丧失”

C 选项后面的成分作为独立结构  对声音在水中长途传播进行说明

要是C前面加上with就好理解多了，是独立主格结构~总觉得很别扭~

E. ing主动语态不合理 sound can not prevent itself
C.D n+ed独立主结构不错,  corret idiom: prevent sb from doing sth.
as a result of 不如by doing sth准确.
so the answer is C
