LBS MBA 2011-2013 Taking Questions

谢谢各位校友。

想请教一下LBS出来的毕业生在pharmaceutical可能会有哪些工作机会，还有就是学校在这方面是不是有比较好的传统（alumni, 以往的录取经验）或学生社团

LBS最近一届MBA毕业生（MBA2009）有百分之五去了healthcare行业（http://www.london.edu/assets/documents/theschool/MBA2009_EmploymentReport_LBS.pdf），是除掉金融和咨询业之外最大的招生行业。其中强生招了4个，是industry公司招人最多的。今年毕业的中国同学也有一位会加入强生中国医疗器械公司。

每年顶级的healthcare公司都会来学校做presentation和招人，学校的healthcare club也很活跃，会组织很多活动，包括每年的healthcare forum。

2月份，London Business School Healthcare Club组织了Swiss Healthcare Trek。我们对Healthcare行业有兴趣的同学一起访问了：Novartis，Amgen，Nycomed，Medtronic和Nextechventure (VC firm) 。这些公司对LBS学生的来访都非常重视，专门安排了Presentation和Networking的时间，参加接待不仅有HR和部门负责人，还有Director级别的高层管理人员。我们一行人近距离地了解了行业和企业的动向。LBS学生Full Time或Summer Intern到Healthcare行业工作涉及的公司有：AstraZeneca，Abbott，Amgen，GSK，JnJ，Novartis，Pfizer，BIOMERIEUX ，Medtronic，Roche，Eli Lillly等等。这些工作机会主要是通过学校,healthcare club,和alumni。到任何一个企业去，都涉及到Function的问题，还要看个人的背景。

Just wondering, when are we expected to arrive at LBS for our first term? Also, when approximately is the last day of the December semester? thanks!

From my experience, your orientation week could start from  Mon 23 August and your winter term could end on Sun 19 Dec this year. I guess the school will release the term dates shortly.

多谢分享。 不知道现在申请R4有录取的可能吗？ 还是基本不可能了？  之前没有想过去欧洲， 跟美国的MBA较劲去了， 现在被拒的七七八八， 蓦然回首， 觉得LBS 还是很适合我的... sigh...

Round 4和美国的Round 3一样，机会是很少的，起码我们好像没听说哪个中国学生是第四轮被录取的，如果想保证成功率，还是建议明年和美国的学校一起申请。其实columbia和Insead也有spring的class，实在想早点去读也可以考虑的。

thanks for the info! So if it says the term ends on Dec 12th, does that mean that exams also end on the 12th and we can expect to go home on the 13th? Thanks

Yeah.  Many students took their luggage to exam and went to airport right after it
