这个题我用的是排除法做的,有关名词做定语我也不是很明白
不过新东方的笔记是这样的:
表示一个名词的质地/功能/性质/用途时,用名词做定语
a color tv  和 a colorful tv

同意去掉the，因为上面也提到了more dieases,和这里的poorer diet是并列结构，并没有什么特指diet的意思，所以，the应该去掉

修饰array , 核心词在array。但是这道题我觉得用排除法更好。A的they live是wordy的一种表达方式，而且这里是定语从句，不是同位语从句；B少了连接代词，使得句子不完整，出现了2个谓语；D，从句中没有了谓语动词。句子的结构是：

Virtually the same array of mammals  that lives  in the hills surrounding Los Angeles today occupied this area in the late Pleistocene era.

B,2个谓语，没有连词
D,少谓语

A 肯定没错，因为后面有 sugar 而非 sugars. 既然这样，present 必定不对。要么是 presenting， 要么是 that presents. 这里应该是同位语。

从句修饰 the same array. 所以答案没有错。用排除法也可以得出这个结论。
