Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their
birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. In your opinion, are
such relationships good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to
support your answer. In the eyes of many people, pets are the best friends of human. Ever
since ancient time, people have cultivated dogs and train them as assistant in
hunting. While many people love pets and treat pets as their family members,
many others would the opposite opinions. As a matter of fact, there is no
universal answer to that question. Whether one choice takes precedence over the
other would quite depend on specific situation. After viewing this
controversial issue in several diverse lights, I would stand with those who
prefer not to keep a close relationship with pets. Here follow the potent
supports.
To begin with, many pets carry diseases and constantly make human
infected. It sounds somewhat convincing for people to argue that most pets are
injected so that those pets no longer carry diseases. While stating that, they assume
that all pets are injected. In fact, many pet owners do not make their pets
injected because of the expensive fees. According to the official statistics in
JS, the city I lived, less than 50% dogs are injected and 85 people died last
year because of dog bites. Hence, my conclusion is not mere proverbial wisdom
but a fact supported by empirical statistics.
Another equivalent critical ground to support my view is that some
people tend to breed very dangerous animals, such as snake or leopards. Those
animals bring trouble to other people. To give a demonstration, one of my brothers
takes a green snake as his pet. Although the snake is not poisonous, it always scares
his classmates and friends. In the end, his friends alienated him and did not
want to talk to him any longer.
As no doubt, some elder people will feel lonely without pets. They
rely on pets and view pets as the source of happiness. However, these problems
are not unavoidable as long as their children and family spend more time
communicating with them. By using this method, elder people will feel the love
of the family without depending on pets.
In sum, basing my conclusion on the illustrations and expositions
mentioned above, accordingly, I hold the position that people shall not keep
too close a relationship with pets.
