A有几个问题

1.to make 在这里使用不当，虽然to do 一般来说会优于 for doing ，但是也要看情况的。

to do 一般表示主观上主动去做社么事，for doing 是被用来干社么，不是主动的（这个是我瞎掰的，依稀记得在哪里见过）

2. they 指代不清，代词优先指代主句主语，但A中的they逻辑指代是scientists，所以不对

A有几个问题

不敢苟同，就算如你所说for doing表被动的，题目的意思也是spacecraft主动靠近去测量。

并且C答案最大的问题我记得我前面哪个讨论里面也提到过，用and把有明显逻辑顺序的动作拆成句子很不妥，是measurement让科学家发现。。。而不是航天器在测量的同时，科学家又在发现什么东东

A唯一可能有点不好的地方就是那个them，但是就近指代scientists也是说得通的
