Greetings from Cornell MBA2011! We are here to share our views with the new applicants. School hasn't kicked off, so it's not the best time (yet!)  for us to talk about the details of the Cornell MBA. However, we would love to share what we learnt through the application, if you happen to consider the Johnson School at Cornell University this year.

First, I'd like to post some important information for the financial aid.

Johnson School does have non-cosigner loan for international students.

请问：1. Cornell的课程安排和其他学校相比有什么特别的地方？

      2. faculty中有哪几位教授是比较出名的？

      3. Conrnell最为推崇的文化是什么？比方说，leadership, entrepreneurship or teamwork

去看了一下loan的具体条款，貌似cornell的loan是从借贷日起就开始计息的，也就是说两年学习期间是要计息的？

是这样的理解的么？谢谢了。

Yes. You are right. As far as I know, it is the common practice among many top B-schools. The good news is Cornell offers a tuition pay installment plan. We will find more about the financial aid after we arrive at the school. 

"The Cornell Installment Plan
                (CIP), also known as the Tuition Pay Plan, is administered by Sallie Mae® and enables students and their families to make interest-free, monthly installments to cover each semester's tuition and expenses.  You must self-enroll each academic year.  Enrollment must be done electronically via the link below or by calling Sallie Mae directly at (800) 635-0120."

不知道楼主能不能简单总结下你理解的cornell跟其他学校不同的地方，以及他们对申请人有无偏好。

还有就是R1跟R2申请的区别大不大。谢谢！

虽然还没有开学,也没见到去年申请人的全貌, 还不敢妄加评论什么. 不过去年申请一路走来感觉CD上有一些加精的文章还是值得细细品味的。关于Cornell的特色，建议看一看本论坛置顶的一篇文章《

Briefing of 30 Top Business Schools》，我个人比较赞同其对Cornell的描述。

一般来说Cornell的General Management和Accounting比较好，我的几个美国朋友都觉得那里是学GM的地方，所以录取的corporate背景的申请人挺多的。另外，学校也有关注VC, PE的历史，所以Entreprenuer的申请人也不少。我当初申请还发现一点的就是，学校的marketing中特别有e-marketing的方向，这在其他学校不多见，而事实证明今年入学的好几位也都有这方面背景。

除了学校的Immersion program非常有特色（帮你早点进入商业现实）以外，我个人最推崇的Cornell的一点是学校自身的良好管理，对学生高度负责。别忘了，拿到录取只是第一步，从商业行为的角度来讲只不过是签订了Contract，接下我方要付费而学校要deliver service。今年形势特殊，很多学校都没有non-consigner loan，这方面学校一直在努力而且最后还是成功地work出了一个方案，同时，学校一直在马不停蹄地安排大家housing、签证、financial aid, orientation、class pre-work等各方面事宜，整个过程井然有序，有什么问题，我们都一封信就能找到对应的部门解决。所以，总的来说我认为对学生的负责是学校的一大优势。

R1和R2从校方审查标准来讲没有任何区别，但是有能力争取R1的当然要申请R1，毕竟，每年申请形势都不一样，对同一个申请人而言，早申请总是能够争取到更大的可能性，当然前提是要准备到位。我们今年入学的华人R1,R2,R3的都有。不过R3没有从大陆录取的。
